History

Founded in 1989 by Arnaud Solandt and Jean Rossard, Montchevre began as a small operation in a 4,000 square-foot former cheddar plant in Preston, WI.
More than twenty-five years later, Montchevre is the leading goat cheese producer in the United States.

Craft

Made with respect for traditional French cheese making
techniques led by fourth generation cheese maker Jean Rossard, Montchevre uses the highest quality ingredients to gain the smooth and creamy texture it’s known for.

Mission

Remaining true to its original core principles, Montchevre places emphasis on high-quality, wholesome products and production of outstanding goat cheese at the very best value. Producing more than fifty variations of goat cheese, thanks to the supply of milk from approximately 350+ independent family owned farms, Montchevre is conscious of ethics and best practice, purposely protecting farmers’ livelihoods and striving to provide a safe and pleasant work environment for all employees.
