We all need a makeover every now and then. Whether it’s a haircut to freshen up our look, a paint job to renovate our house, or a new diet to leave us feeling rejuvenated, makeovers help us feel good and help prepare us to take on whatever the world feels like throwing our way. After 27 years, we decided that it’s time to treat Montchevré to a good old-fashioned makeover with a new website, new photography, new online Cheese Shop
and so much more!
For the past 27 years, Montchevré has been an innovative force in the American goat cheese world; creating new techniques, new flavors and new cheese concepts so that you can enjoy specialty cheeses in your home whenever you want! The Montchevré team was the first to blend fresh goat cheese with a wide variety of ingredients, leading to the most versatile line of fresh goat cheese in the industry. We were the first to manufacture crumbled goat cheese, made especially for sprinkling on top of your favorite dish. Montchevré was the first to build a network of independent American family farms while establishing a strong, steady and sustainable milk supply to ensure that every batch of cheese is made with fresh, prime-quality goat milk.
The Montchevré story isn’t one we wanted to leave behind with this makeover; in fact it is what has inspired the makeover. The Montchevré team thought it was about time for our customers to get an inside look at what goes on in our cheesy little world! With our new website, we can’t wait to take you behind the scenes of our farms, our plant, our recipes, and our fun ideas for the American Goat Cheese industry.
Since every batch of Montchevré cheese originates from one of our farms, we thought it was only fair to dedicate part of our first blog post to our farmers.
Montchevré’s farmers are an essential part of our company. We support over 360 local, independent family farms across Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri and Minnesota; all of whom produce their milk exclusively for Montchevré. Our fresh milk supply is the driving force of our company and is one of the many characteristics that differentiate us from any other goat cheese producer in North America. We are fully committed to our hardworking farms and it is important to us that all of our customers know that with every purchase of Montchevré goat cheese, you are helping support an American family farm!
For a more intimate look at one of our farms check out our goat cam that links you directly to the Shaw’s Family Farm, “3 Kid Dairy,” where you are more than likely to see Brian & Kalleen Shaw, along with their three daughters, milking or tending to their goats. If you’re lucky you might even get to see newborn baby goats roaming around the milking parlor. Check out the goat farm!
